Since 1991, Horizons for Youth has committed to understanding each individual student’s need and filling that gap. Our mission is to transform children’s lives by providing targeted resources, rooted in education, in a trusting partnership with their families and communities. Through a series of highly coordinated, targeted support services, we create spaces for youth of all academic ability levels to succeed.
The Detroit Police Athletic League (Detroit PAL) was founded in 1969 to bring police officers and youth in Detroit together. In partnership with the Detroit Police Department and community volunteers, Detroit PAL builds character in young people through athletic, academic, and leadership development programs. Some of the biggest names in Detroit sports have partnered with PAL giving children an opportunity to learn life skills through athletics and giving them the confidence and motivation to be great on and off the field.
